  • Shane’s Daughter Has Been Visiting Again. :) (July 28, ’11)

And I wanted to share this with you. She’s been writing a story for the last couple of years, adding bits here and there when time allows. It’s based on a Princess in medieval times, and how she hates the entrapment of her position and the falseness of courtly life. Her name is Elana, and this is a poem she wrote for her English lesson…

    Enjoy. :)

    Trapped.

    Trapped.
    Among the shoals
    of mindless scrolls.
    Trapped.
    The palpable paper
    on which people are printed
    is lacking.
    False is the world
    in which we live.
    Where covers matter more
    than the content.
    Where the title
    outstretches the binding.
    Individual pages
    from the history of life
    matter not
    in the overall library.
And in the library books are sorted.
    The most comely covers
    on a pedestal are placed
    for prosaic pedestrians to peruse.
    Past the title
    no-one looks
    for no-one cares
so long as the place is filled.
