Omigod. This is getting ridiculous. (Feb 12, ’10)
Last week a Chickadee flew into the camper window, and the cat was on it like lightening. Nothing I could do but clean up a few stray feathers later.
So when I heard a BANG on the window yesterday, I dashed out quick before Junior knew what was happening, and found a female Cardinal on the floor, looking decidedly crooked in the neck. But I picked her up, walked up to ask Pops for advice, and while we were talking she gave herself a shake and flew off into a nearby tree. Yayyyy!!So about 20 minutes ago, I’m sat here blog-hopping and minding my own business when I hear ANOTHER huge BANG on the window! Same scenario as yesterday, a female Cardinal. Good grief! I’m not even dressed yet!A second rescue. Look in the top left corner ~ that’s Junior, the bird-eater.I’ve carried her over to the tree where the feeder is hanging. She’s sat there now, gathering her wits and starting to look a bit perkier. I’ll keep an eye on her and make sure she’s okay.I think I need to buy rubber netting for the windows.
